Not a nitwit, not yet a complete imbecile

Oh, Bit-Bit. You're at again. Sometimes, I can't help but shake my head and sigh when Britney Spears ends up in the media for the umpteenth time.

This time, Mrs. Federline asked to sit down with Matt Lauer for an interview. Keep that tidbit in mind - she asked for the interview. And boy did she provide some fantastic soundbits!

Per the CNN preview, Ms. Spears descibes herself as an "emotional wreck." I can at least agree with the wreck part of that statement. There is a certain delicious sense of schadenfreude in watching the Britney-Spears-Train fly wildly off the track and crash into a million fiery pieces. I mean, there was the original quickie wedding, then the affair with K-Fed, then the sinfully tacky wedding to K-Fed, then the fact that she decided to bear one of K-Fed's many children, and now, that she is pregnant yet again by Kevin Federline. What a wreck indeed.

The best quote of the oh-so-short preview article, however, has to do with privacy. Apparently, Britney wants some. From the article: " 'You have to realize that we're people and that we need, we just need privacy and we need our respect,'" she said. "'And those are things that you have to have as a human being.'"

Wait. I'm trying to smother the intense fit of laughter that is coming on. Let me get this straight. Britney Spears sold pictures of her wedding ceremony to People Magazine. Britney Spears sold picture of her hanging out with her stepchildren to People Magazine. And this Britney Spears --- the same person who personally videotaped and narrated and PRODUCED the god awful tripe called "Chaotic" - which no one even really wanted to see ---- is asking for PRIVACY and RESPECT??? And she is asking for it during a televised national interview that she ASKED to do?? I am suddenly convinced that God has a sense of humor, because there is no other explanation for the kind of completely ignorant and pathetically sad fame-whoring the Britney is guilty of.

But, I guess I should have some pity on Britney. So, ok Britney, let's make a deal. You stop doing interviews, stop making "music," stop your husband from killing music, and stop selling pictures to magazines, and we'll all leave you alone.

Honestly, I think we the public are in a win/win situation with that deal.
