Ewww! Just ewww!

Well, there appears to have been a recent upsurge in the number of older women who like their boytoys being on the other side of legal. The case of Lisa Clark, 37, from Georgia and her 15-year-old husband appears to be the latest.

The following quotes are taken from the news story at CNN:

"A 37-year-old woman who is seven months pregnant by her 15-year-old groom says she prefers older men, but the teenager aggressively wooed her."

Aggressively wooed her??? What did he do? Ride his bike to her house every night and recite her lines from "The O.C."? Justin Timberlake?

"She said the morality of their relationship was open to debate, noting that in the past it was common for 13-year-old girls to be given in marriage."

It was also common in the past for livestock to be a part of a dowry and for people to bathe maybe once per year. I just don't see us returning to those times.

" 'It's not like they are making it out to be. Actually, I'd told him 'no' several times because I prefer someone older, but he was just so nice and so sweet,' she said."

She prefers someone older. Older than what? A fetus?

Now, I know, some people are going to say "Age is just a number." Yes, age is just a number. Just like Moby Dick is just about a whale. I suppose it is possible for a 15-year-old and a 37-year-old to fall in love. But, one would hope that the the 37-year-old would have the sense that God gave a turnip to know that hooking up with a 15-year-old is a bad idea. Forget the legality of the situation: the kid is 15. He can't even drive yet. What makes you think that he is emotionally mature enough to be an equal partner in a relationship with someone twice his age when he can't even go see "Jackass: The Movie" without an adult or guardian present? If it's really love, wait a few years! Let the kid grow up! Let the kid get pubes! Let the kid's voice finish changing!

*sigh* Unfortunately, I don't think this will be the last we hear of women like Lisa Clark. Harvey Danger had it right: "Only stupid people are breeding."

what's your deal [Reply]

why do you have like an attitude towards geniune people while not realizing that they are actually good people, i can't judge you because i don't know you, but perhaps, you should analyze people more because it doesn't seem like you know people, maybe you're just dealing with your own insecurities

What to say [Reply]

I must admit, I am honestly scratching my head about how to respond. Hmmmm. Not being able to see the good in a woman who took advantage of a teenage boy less than half her age. It would certainly be unusual to be warm and accepting of such behavior.

As for my insecurities: yes, I have plenty of them. Thankfully, none of my insecurities are in any way related to lusting after young boys.

With regards to my life [Reply]

Interestingly enough, I actually get paid good money to analyze other people's lives...
